Ex-Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas has warned former teammate Robin van Persie he must make a huge decision as his contract at the north London club runs down.
The Spanish midfielder – who left the Gunners for Barcelona in the summer – believes Arsenal need to do all they can to keep hold of the talented Dutchman, but feels time is no longer on Van Persie's side.
Speaking after his substitute appearance in Spain's surprising 1-0 international friendly defeat to England on Saturday (November 12th), Fabregas suggested that Van Persie needs to either move on or finish his career at Arsenal.
"At his age, if he wants to move it will be his last chance and if he wants to stay he will stay and retire at Arsenal," Fabregas commented.
However he went on to say that he remains an Arsenal fan and he hopes Van Persie – who has already netted 13 times this season – signs a new deal at the Emirates.
Fabregas was also critical of England's performance at the weekend, claiming the Three Lions were too keen to sit back and defend.
