There are tons of things to do during the summer, and parents who have a pre-teen or early teenager can have a tough time finding stuff for their child to do that they will actually enjoy doing. Here are a few ideas for those who are stumped.
The summer is a perfect time to go on trips – and these do not have to be long vacations. Simple trips to local historic sites or a beautiful park can be a great day activity. Also, enrolling the child in a camp may be a good idea to ensure they get the physical activity they need.
Having fun is key. So, plan an entire family night out or host a barbeque and have a child help plan.
Don't forget – parents should still keep up with some routine throughout the summer months. Not only does this ensure the parents spend time with their kids, but it makes it so September will not be so much of a change. So, the now sixth, seventh or eighth grader will be ready for their next year in school.
